If I could vote for this man I would, we need more like him, we need MANY more like him in congress, and I am proud to share this country with him.

I can't believe they actually published this drivel.

My favorite line, the one that really makes the rest just rhetoric to make the opposition look bad:

PEELE: Well, i'm looking at one beyond. they want no new taxes because they seek some kind of idyllic past.

No, I want no new taxes because I can't afford any more and neither can most other folks. I think the problem is not our tax rates but our spending rates. I have no illusions about the past, I am looking at the future. Where do you draw the line on taxes? The way we're handling it now is a steadily steepening slope of increasing taxes to fund programs that do nothing to improve the economy or tax base, and simply require more and more tax revenue to maintain. Every year they'll require more money and do more damage to our economy until there's nothing left.
With all the various taxes and fees added together it's amazing there's anything left for the individual. Sure, you can point to a very modest income tax for the lower income levels, even 0% or a negative amount, but that's only part of the story. Everything we consume is taxed many times along the way from the company harvesting raw materials through sales tax and property taxes on the consumer end. It would be very interesting to track all the taxes involved in the average grocery purchase, for example. Everything from the taxes on the cashier's paycheck through the property tax for the farmer.

Obviously anything being said by this man should be taken with a grain of salt, but if true...
At what point do we shut down law enforcement agencies? I'd think that engaging in the very activities you are supposed to stop would violate the oath every single agent swore. If their oath is being violated in that manner then every statement they make in court cannot be trusted, their word is useless.

Well, I'm slightly disappointed but not surprised that both CT Senators voted for the debt increase. I traded messages with Senator Blumenthal regarding this issue and understand and accept his ideas. I don't agree, but he at least voted yes for the right reason in my opinion. I have no idea on Lieberman.

The shocker was the House of Reps.
Courtney, Y; DeLauro, N; Himes, Y; Larson, N; Murphy, N.
Larson is my rep, and while not terribly communicative he voted NO so I'm pleased. I congratulate DeLauro, Larson and Murphy for having the guts to vote NO and standing firm.

Slander from the Vice President of the United States of America

According to Mr. Biden, anyone arguing against a debt increase is a terrorist, a jihidist. We're holding a gun to the nation's head and holding it hostage.

Personally, I am rather offended and insulted. Mr. Vice President, if the "Tea Party" types ever decide to resort to organized conflict it won't be a political game and we won't be the terrorists, we'll be the ones defending our nation from usurpers.

I have repeatedly argued against violence. I feel it will serve no good purpose unless every other avenue is exhausted and there is no other option but literal surrender. I feel strongly that despite the problems we face the best solutions will continue to be through the ballot box, lobbying, letter campaigns and peaceful protest as supported by the Constitution. Because of my position on violence for political change I am extremely offended by the VP's remarks and consider them slander. There's no comparison between a large group of individuals working within the political framework of our nation in a legal manner to support an agenda and terrorists. One stands and talks, writes letters, donates money, holds a sign.... The other kills people, blows up buildings and, oh yeah, terrorizes, to force change.

So, Mr. VP, you might be terrorized, but that's not my problem, I haven't blown anything up, shot anyone, threatened anything but my continued financial support and vote for those who represent me the way I wish to be represented. I am seeing a concerted attempt to demonize the conservatives outside the mainstream of politics. If we're not willing to continue the charade that has been played out for decades now we are terrorists or violent radicals. We're gun nuts, morons, crazy... We're all liars, violent and can't see the big picture. Sorry, the fringe nut jobs seem to be pretty equally divided and lately it's the ones on the left who seem to be actively committing violent acts in the US. Wasn't that a pretty incident at Wells Fargo recently? How about those New Black Panthers or the violence directed at conservatives at various political speeches during the last congressional recess?

I'm tempted to officially create a corporation called "Tea Party" just so I can sue every politician who makes these kinds of comments. You call us the violent ones, the gun nuts.... yet more often than not we're the victims of politically inspired violence and you're the one talking about guns to the government's head and holding hostages. You're the one operating gun smuggling operations so you can justify more gun control. You're the one lying and cheating and stealing our future as a nation for short term political gains.
