It seems Mexico doesn't want to deal with its own trash and thinks the US should just hold onto it for them. My own solution is pretty straight forward. If Mexico doesn't want them back when they're done serving their time there are plenty of ways to dispose of the bodies.

Mexico has a lot of issues, and most of the population is just trying to get by day to day and not get caught in the middle, but the government needs to stop acting like the US is the answer to all their problems. Your people came HERE and committed serious crimes, when they've served their time they are no longer welcome here and become YOUR problem. Deal with it. We really don't care if you want to just have a line of automated machine guns at a special border crossing for them or use them as point men during raids on the cartels or just toss them back in jail. Heck, use them as shark bait in one of the fishing resorts so you can get more US dollars out of them from tourists.

I like this judge, he actually applies common sense and understands the standing of the individual's rights versus the government's.

Not only is it not gone, but it never even got all its funding cut and is still committing fraud against the government. This type of thing needs to be shut down hard and fast if the government wants to pretend it is actually enforcing the laws of this nation the way they should be, equally. I am not naive, I don't expect to find true equality in the real world, but at some level you have to at least fake it better than this or the rest of the population might decide you are no longer a government of and for the people. Given how big a mess that would create it is far better to at least hammer the mole that sticks his head up too far, not just give it a love tap.

No one but the wackos wants to tear apart the current system entirely, but pretty much everyone agrees that it's broken. Congress and the President need to stop taking the crow bar to the cracks and start rebuilding a functional government.

That just makes me sick. However, there is a gaping hole in that bill that would allow continued enforcement. It states that they must be part of an ongoing investigation. Gosh, the fact that they're there means they're guilty of a misdemeanor, which just so happens to require an investigation. Then, unless they have no false documents, you can add on all of that. Probably a number of laws are being violated since they probably don't have a legit driver's license. They might HAVE a DL, but either it's not really theirs or it was gained using false documents. That's another investigation to find out who provided them, created them... whether there was any intentional and knowing assistance at the DMV... It's possible a few have what used to be a valid DL because they came here legally but overstayed, I'm not sure whether their DL automatically expires at that point or not, but I imagine that's a small percentage and honestly, those aren't the people I worry about. They at least had to provide documentation before they came and when coming into the country.

It looks like his attempt to wiggle out without a plea deal is off, so now it goes to a committee for further examination. Good.
