This type of behavior needs to be seriously penalized. I'm not sure how effective it would be to go after the people actually trying to vote, but if you jail the people organizing such groups for a significant amount of time it might reduce it. I'd also immediately cut funding to any involved organization and bar them from government contracts even as a subcontractor or union working on the site.

What scares me is not a local fight in the courts and a challenged election. I worry that it is approaching the point where many people feel like control of the country is literally being usurped by this process and decide it's time to stop it by violent means. I'm against armed revolution, not particularly because I think it's wrong but because I think it's too messy and too likely to either fail or result in no actual improvement down the road. I feel that what needs to happen is for the true patriots to apply enough legal and political pressure that despite the illegal voting manipulation the makeup of our government from the local to the federal level shifts.

This shift in political attitude is not a matter of party lines. Even many of the hot button issues will still be debated and vary state to state. What will change is that politicians will know that lying to the public has serious consequences, acting against the best interests of the country will not be ignored and that just like an individual the government must balance the check book.

I think we got the hint.

He just can't stop himself I guess. I thought Bush was a bumbling fool sometimes for his verbal goofs and mannerisms, but his were mostly honest goofs we just had fun mocking. This kind of thing is just plain disgusting.

"He said Republicans had driven the economy into a ditch and then stoodby and criticized while Democrats pulled it out. Now that progress hasbeen made, he said, 'we can't have special interests sitting shotgun. We gotta have middle class families up in front. We don't mind the Republicans joining us. They can come for the ride, but they gotta sit in back.'"

“If Latinos sit out the election instead of saying, ‘We’re gonna punish our enemies and we’re gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us,’ if they don’t see that kind of upsurge in voting in this election, then I think it’s gonna be harder and that’s why I think it’s so important that people focus on voting on November 2.”

I have real issues with the President of the United States referring to any citizen of this nation as the enemy for any reason, much less differences of political opinion.

I'm pretty annoyed that our congressmen (of both genders) are continuing to allow ACORN to receive our tax dollars. Sure, some programs got temporarily unfunded, but not all, and there has been no significant investigation. At what point do our elected representatives become morally and ethically tied to something that they allow to continue? I doubt there's any law requiring them to pressure the DOJ to investigate properly, but simple personal and professional responsibility would make it important to anyone deserving of their office.

This isn't even a case of a little smoke indicating a possible small fire. The depth and diversity of allegations, many from past supporters of ACORN, make it pretty clear there's significant criminal activity going on.
